I agree with your appreciation for that repetitive sound that provides the rhythm. I didn't even notice it until you mentioned it; but *sometimes* to me when you don't notice particular parts in a song, it means it's doing its job. ;) The only thing that bothered me was a really loud ringing frequency that occurred at the start and end of the song, I think it just needs to be turned down, it might just be me. I enjoyed this composition; nice and simple but subversive, and certainly evokes a feeling of a dark aimless time. Even though the instrument quality isn't super realistic, the songs *mood* really gives this realistic, gritty impression upon me.

Thank you very much. Yeah, maybe that chromatic sound is a bit too aggressive, especially when it's on its own. Should I stumble upon the project file I may reduce it (and fix that nasty click noise in the beginning while at it).

Something about your music sounds so organic. The instrument selection, the mixing, and your composing, all combine itself into a solid soundtrack. Its very enjoyable. Around 3:00, love the way that guitar comes in and melts the piece into this higher level of intensity, but still so peaceful. The drums are loud but I like them loud, it kinda gives it this realistic dirty-ness to me, sounds more natural in other words, if that makes sense. Outstanding Composition.

Ah this is awesome!! It has a subversive mood. Makes me think of dust, dirt, and country side. Perfect instrument choice and effects. Nice composition.

Aside from the file quality, you can tell this was mixed pretty nicely. Nice composition. You do a great job having the wind instruments evolve and dance around each other, and love the guitar and shakers always chilling creating a nice rhythm. At around 2:40 I really like the drop of instruments and the focus on those nice vibes and guitar. I like the time signature of this song, it gives it kind of a morphing shifting feel, instead of basic 4/4. Great job! :D

Nice piece. You do an excellent job blending the orchestral elements with the electronic synths. I like the change of pace at 2:26. I can easily imagine this music for a space context, it kinda screams it ;)

Thank you very much! :)

This definitely sets the mood that you described above. Pretty awesome choir that comes towards the end, perfect volume automation.

F4LL0UT responds:

Thanks. Although it's actually a solo sopranist. ^^

I like the cool bass synth layers going, perfect sci-fi touch. Nice drum introduction at 1:20, its simple but you kinda want that for envrionmental soundtrack music. This definitely reminds me of mass effect or some halo influence. The bass drum has a nice low end to it, couldn't help but notice that. :)

F4LL0UT responds:

Thanks. The one thing that annoys me incredibly, though, is how strong the low frequencies in the bass line are. When I rendered the piece for the NG upload I had only cheap speakers at my disposal where the bass line seemed pretty thin, when I listened to it again on decent headphones I died a little.

This is a really nice composition. It has pretty good quality, and was mixed VERY well. Nice volume automation on the string/brass swells. And adding that wind instrument floating around throughout was a great touch. nice job :)

F4LL0UT responds:

Thank you very much. Although personally I'm not sure the mix is that good. The string pad seems too prominent and compressed to me. I'm glad it's not that bad after all. :) And yeah, I'm also very happy how the woodwind turned out. It's a duduk, I love the instrument but sadly there's few occasions to make really good use of it (especially so it doesn't seem forced or just cheesy). It was quite an experiment in this case (at least for me) and I was absolutely thrilled by the resulting sound. :)

Wow that sounds like a legit cartoon.

Yeah this is pretty cool. (before i even read your comment, I was about to say that it sounds like drops of water in a cave or something) --so good job on your portrayal :)

I make a lot of different types of music, but I have a special appreciation for scores and movie/ video game soundtracks. I also make games http://stormcrowgamestudios.com/ If you're a musician, I'd like to hear your music, regardless of genre.
